I hit 30......

I am so proud of myself!!! Today I hit 30....30 pounds lost. Where did I lose them? I don't know (well, I kinda do), but I surely do not ever want to find them again!!! HOORAY! I hope I keep losing them somewhere & wherever!

Amigas......

Yesterday my friend Maria was here from Houston. We celebrated her birthday on the 28th instead of the 29th. I usually get to see her once a year. It's funny because I get to see my friend that lives in Harlingen once a year also. I got mad at her last night, I hope we will keep in contact more often. Anyways, we had a good time and so did the kiddos!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIA!

FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Thank God we were blessed this Christmas. Full of health and happiness! We spent Dec 24 at The famous YBARRA'S. We all had a good time. My mom went to visit with my sister in Virginia. She took off Dec. 23. So we celebrated @ my mom's on Saturday. My mom took some of the necessary ingredients to make tamales overthere. My sister tells me that she has been enjoying the tamales and home made flour tortillas!!

Although we had "shorts" weather, it was beautiful weather. It's just that it doesn't feel a lot like Christmas with that kind of weather. But I will not complain, I'll take this weather over snow storms!

Too much going on...

Long story short..... I took Adrian to the doctor about a little over a week. I left my digital camera behind and no one returned it!!! How mean???!!! Boy was I bummed for a few days!!! Just this past weekend, my hunny had an idea....go and get a new camera!! I moved on up from 3 mp to 7.2 mp!!! I am having fun with my new Sony camera!! Oh, we also got an HDTV!!! I forget the size, but it is a pretty decent size!! I can't wait for tonight, to take a lot of pics!!!

The ".01"

You know how it is @ gas stations if you don't have an atm or credit card or some form of plastic, you have to pay in advance. (Unless, you tank up @ Walmart........they trust their customers, and let you pump then pay.) Anyways, for over a year now, I've been paying cash, up until recently. Abel & I got cards!! NOW, let me get to my point. I have not had the need to stop the pump. THEY always stop it for me! SO NOW, that I have to do it..........guess what....I keep stopping @ $10.01, $20.01, etc... I try my best to stop at ".00" but it's just not working!! I guess I need practice?

3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY @ VDC!!

3 years ago today I started working @ VDC. According to some sources, in my earlier days, I would wear my pin strip suit. I'm not that stylish, cuz of my size. I do however plan to buy different styles once they feel better. Anyways, I like where I work at. Currently, I am the manager of the Medical Record Department. Click here for our website! There are still so many things that I would like to do in he dept. I also work with a good group of staff members and a great Executive Director. VDC is a workplace that is family oriented, flexible, and that cares about staff morale. Of course, this is my opinion and of many others and then again, not of others. I say that you make what you want of anything in life! I love to be happy!! Happy Anniversary to me!

P.S. Today I bought my first pair of pointy shoes. I feel I'm walking like a model, all crooked. Hee Hee. I am trying to break them in before tomorrow's company Christmas Party! As long as I don't fall, I'll be fine. I'll blog about how it goes!

P.S.S. Today @ the Brownsville Mall my hunny pointed out a girl that looked like my sister! I even got teary-eyed! My sister is in Virginia and I miss her, my bro-in-law, and the kiddos! Love u guys!

P.S.S. My first job was as a cashier @ MOODY'S grocery store here in San Benito. I used to hate paging for assistance for bagging. I would hurry up and bag to avoid calling for help. (LIKE MY BRO-IN-LAW IGGY, HE SAID "HELP" ON THE MERVNY'S INTERCOM..... funny to me) Mr. Moody would get mad and make me call for help!! Anyways, don't give me a mic now.

Breaking the "LAW?"

So, today I'm having my normal busy day @ work.... One of my employees, who is out to lunch, calls me & tells me "HEADS UP." She's got my attention...she tells me that the repo man is looking for me!!!!!!!!! Adriana Villegas, working @ VDC, lives in San Benito & drives an '05 Taurus. All of those are hits for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now I am MAD, CONFUSED, & somewhat WORRIED? I could feel the steam coming out of my ears!! SUPPOSEDLY she told him that she did not know me. I go straight to my office, start making some phone calls. (Do you know how hard it is to get a live person on the phone now a days?) I check my account online, to see how behind I am on my payments? I print what it says, I'm calling the bank anyways, my mind starts wondering, I go check if my car is still in the parking lot......and it is still there. I call my employee back and ask her if she has the phone # to those repo people...she did...so I called. The gentleman there said he was busy and that he'd call me back. He told me to let him check his paperwork. He called me back and he still had not checked, for me to call him back. I called back later & NO ANSWER!! So tonight I will sleep in my car, in case the repo man shows up. Nah, I won't sleep in my car because I am current on my payments!!! When I spoke to the repo department at my bank, they said that they had NOT placed an order. I spoke to several people there and they said my next payment is due until Jan 2008!! I asked my employee if she was playing a joke on me??? She said no. So I guess we will see what happens tomorrow?

17 MORE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!

I am in the holiday spirit and therefore would like to get you into it (incase you're not already). But if you are.....this will only help a little more (I hope). My family and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!! We have been practicing this for days now. We wanted to make sure everything came out right! With that in mind......CLICK HERE.....for a little somethin' somethin'.

I WAS THE BIGGEST LOSER!!!

Today @ Quita Kilos was the end of a contest.....and I lost the most KILOS!!! As a prize I will be receiving a gift basket filled w/goodies!!! Healthy goodies!! I lost a total of over 10 kilos=24 pounds!!!! To celebrate...tonight I ate pizza (2 slices only)!! WHAT!!!!???!!! Yup, I wanted to be bad. But without a doubt, I will start up again tomorrow. I still want to be a great big loser of pounds!!!

I WILL BE A BIG LOSER!!!

I told myself I wouldn't even turn on the computer tonight. I have some dishes to wash, I have clothes to wash, and pick up a little, oh and look @ the AVON book. Anyways, for the 1st time tonight I saw a complete show of "The Biggest Loser." I have not been able to keep my eyes off of the TV!! Some people have lost over 200 lbs!!! Now, why wouldn't I be able to lose 50 more pounds. On October 25, 2007 I joined a healthy eating program in Brownsville. It has not been easy, but I am enjoying it because I am seeing results. I have joined the program in the past, but have last 3 months @ the most. I would feel good and stop going. That would defeat the purpose of the program because I wouldn't be there long enough to make it a life style change. This time around I have set a goal of attending an entire year. Not only attend, but continue to eat healthy and so our family could also eat healthy. I hope to God that I am able to stick to it. It should be a little easier this time because I only have to travel to Brownsville, unlike the past times, to Matamoros.

In 5 weeks I have been able to drop 20 lbs. Keep in mind, I have NOT stopped eating!! My friend Jennifer is my witness! I also have to thank my early rising friends. Josie, Jennifer & I have been waking up early to exercise @ the Heavin Trail. We have even been accused of waking up the residents of Freddy Fender Lane (which I doubt!) It is just that sometimes we crack up laughing at silly things. I enjoy their company!

Thanks to my wonderful husband grilling some hamburger patties tonight....my dinner was the following: 1 hamburger patty on 1 bun with cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo. Another hamburger patty with avocado and side order of lettuce. Jalapenos. Then a couple of minutes later I had 3 cups of light popcorn topped with lemon juice and hot sauce. Boy did I feel guilty for eating so, so, so, good! Instead of eating my patties w/2 breads, I chose 1 so I could also have popcorn!! It's about portion control!

Don't get me wrong, I am still @ the point that I say "The heck with Quita Kilos"....I want chocolate! And I eat it :( I want to have my own success story with pictures. I want to be healthy, I want to feel good about myself, and I want to be a pretty mommy for my children, I won't say a beautiful wife for Abel, cuz according to him.......I have and will always continue to be beautiful.

THANKFUL FOR....

I am thankful for...the Lord and all the blessings we have. I am thankful for my loving husband and our two wonderful, blessed, beautiful, loving children. I am so thankful for my parents, sister, brother, all my in-laws, & family. Last but not least, I am thankful for all my friends.

Abel is thankful for....family, jobs, children, health, and everything.

Ally is thankful for..... her family, for a rose, for her daddy, her Christmas tree, & for everyone in the whole life world.

And I can only imagine Adrian is thankful for...his parents, his grandma, his cookies MARIAS from Mexico, and of course thankful for his "choopy."

Here are some of the pictures I couldn't wait to get............

O' CHRISTMAS TREE....O' CHRISTMAS TREE

Today we put our Christmas tree. Ally had been anxious to put it up since yesterday. So, now she is happy. We'll see how Adrian treats the tree. Last year he was too small to do any damage. Now he is 1yr and 3mo! I still need to buy them their ornament for this year. Every year I have been getting them an ornament. So hopefully one day they can use thier own ornaments on their own tree. I thank my sister for this idea :)

OG

Olive Garden is Ally's favorite restaurant. She had been asking to go there this week. So we told her we would take her on Friday. Last night (Friday nite) she asked me "What day are we today?" I told her Saturday. I honestly thought it was Saturday, anyways, she gave me a very confused and disappointing look. Then she asked me "What about Friday?"...... I guess she was asking me that how could we have skipped Friday? Then my mother in law told me it was Friday, boy was Ally mad!! So she wanted to go to the OG right then and there. I had to convince her that it was already closed and that we would take her on Saturday. Did she let us forget today?? NOPE. So here she is eating her favorite meal @ Olive Garden....CHICKEN PARMIGANA. :) Our chiquita was very happy. She ate more than me!

Still waiting..

I am still waiting for my brother-in-law, Ignacio, hook me up with the Thanksgiving Day pictures!! I told him I needed them so I could post them, and yet, no response!!! He expects me to put them on a pin drive, that I DON'T have!!! I'll figure out a way!! OH, the reason I did not take pictures is a long story. The good thing is that now I have plenty of memory on my camera to take pictures. I have 2 gigs vs 64mb I had!!! :)

What's wrong with this picture?

I'm not sure if you can tell, but I was able to tell as soon as I saw it. I guess my hunny was still half asleep. He accidentally put mijos shoes on backwards. He looked like "Squidward" from SpongeBob Squarepants. He looked so funny!! As soon as I took the pictures, Abel told me that there I went....."making fun of him" on my blog! It is not called making fun, it is called recording it in time!

He knows how to touch my heart

My day started kinda early today. I actually got to work before 8:00 a.m. I wanted to clean my office. Since I went to work early, my hunny took the kiddos to their destinations. Ally to school & Adrian to his mom's. Therefore, I was a cool mom today, I drove the Mustang to work. I don't feel like a cool mom in the Taurus. Anyways, Ally asked me to please pick her up from school. Abel had already told me to pick up the Taurus before I picked up the girls (Ally & Hailey) from school. So, I went to his work to drop off the stang. When I parked the stang and got into the Taurus.............I found a "Just Because I LOVE YOU" rose bouquet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My baby touched my heart!!!! Of course I gave him a huge SMILE, HUG, and KISS! I could not believe my eyes! I was and still am very happy! The little card he wrote out is also very beautiful. As I drove off from his work, we gave each other a loving look! I could not wipe the smile off my face. My tear ducts also wanted to act up! On my way to the school, I kept looking @ them and could not stop smiling. Just to think that he was thinking of me while he chose the roses. QUE ROMANTICO! If only he knew how special special special this makes me feel! Things like this make me fall in love all over again! I feel warmth, joy, love, and a tingly sensation in my heart! It also makes me feel extra special, appreciated, loved, happy & beautiful!! Thank you BABY!!! I love you!!! The roses will be in my office for one more day.

Helping Hands

Adrian is starting the stage where he wants to help with whatever we are doing. Here is an example....I was untying the cord to the vacuum and then he took over!! I guess he helps me with the vacuum because he is not afraid of it. Ally was always afraid of it. As soon as we would turn it on, she wouldn't get her eyes off of it. She wouldn't want it near her. I love our Kiddos!!

TEXAS ROADHOUSE

We went to eat at the Texas Roadhouse last night..........and it was d-e-l-c-i-o-u-s!!!!! I always get the Fort-Worth Ribeye (medium well), and like always, it was soooooo tasty and juicy and yummy, yummy, yummy!!! Abel got a BURGER!! He didn't like it, but I thought it was alright. It was a total of 11 of us. My mother in law went, bro-in-law from Freeport, Texas, and his family along with my niece's boyfriend, and Samantha's cousin. We had a good time, and of course Adrian is starting to steal the show. He is a little clown. He likes to do things to make us laugh. He ate chicken strips, some mash, some onion blossom or whatever it is called there and some fries. Ally ate her chicken strips, and like always, she was as shy as can be.

Patience My Child

Even before my hunny and I had children, I learned that you MUST have patience with them. I had witnessed many parents ignoring their children out of frustration or just because they didn't have time for them. Since I was the spectator, I could see what the child was needing or was trying to say to mommy or daddy. Most of the time all the child needed was a simple answer or was in one way or another trying to help mommy/daddy. For example, at the grocery store...child keeps saying "Mommy, mommy, look, look!" And of course the parents were too busy to pay attention or were already mad, and all the child was trying to say was that the next register was empty! I almost lost my patience tonight!! I was in the bedroom with our children, trying to put them to sleep. Allyson kept talking and talking. It was almost 10:00 p.m. on a school night........ She kept asking questions???? On her last comment, I was ready to say "YAAAAAA!!!" BUT, I kept my cool and asked her "What mamita?" She told me, we forgot to pray! I asked God to forgive me and she prayed. It's like I heard one day "WERE OUR CHILDREN SENT TO US SO WE COULD TEACH THEM OR SO THAT WE COULD LEARN FROM THEM?"

GOT CHEESE??

It would happen to me, wouldn't it? I was having an afternoon snack and it landed on my laps!!! My pants survived, but my shirt stayed very stained. I was at work so I could not do much! Oh well, there's no point in crying over spilled cheese. I had one of my employees named Adriana to take a picture w/my phone. She also took a pic w/her phone. :(

When it got cold

Usually I am not the prepared kind. I am not prepared for cold weather, rain, or snow (snow?). But for the first time in forever, I was prepared. This past Monday, when it got cold here in the hot valley, I was so proud of myself. I sent my daughter to school with long sleeve, jacket, jeans and all!! Mind you, it still wasn't cold yet. I took a light jacket to work and was waiting for the cold front to come in. As soon as it came in, co-workers began to say "I didn't send my kiddos to school with a jacket & they are wearing shorts!!!" I, being prepared, held my head high and said "YESSSSSS!" It felt good! I told everyone that the only reason I was prepared was because I get up early to go walk, and that gives me enough time to see the "Team 4 News." It's no wonder older people are wiser, they get up early, read the paper, drink coffee, have breakfast, watch the news, etc... Oh no!!! Does this mean I'm getting older, NAH. I still don't drink coffee. Weno, till next cold front, cuz it's leaving us!!!

Friday Night Racing...........

I can't believe it had been over a year since the last time I had gone to the Edinburg Racetrack!! I missed hearing and seeing those FAST, LOUD, FORD MUSTANGS!!! It was fun. This was also Adrian's 1st time there. He seemed to enjoy the races also. Every time a loud car would pass by on the drag strip, he'd giggle and he wouldn't get his eyes off of the car, but as soon as I would put him down, he was offfff. He'd walk and walk and walk. Ally and I had to keep chasing him!! Adrian thinks he can fly or something. He takes off walking really fast or running and he pushes his arms back and is wiggling his fingers. I guess you'd have to see him so you could know what I'm talking about.

Abel's cousins were out there cooking out some delicious fajitas and chicken. Abel's brother is in town from Freeport, Texas and he also went out there with us. All that Abel and Sam could talk about on the way to Edinburg was cars. I try to learn all that car talk, but it doesn't seem to stick. Although, I do understand some. When my hunny works on cars, I go out there sometimes and he'll teach me and test me. My dad is a mechanic, you'd think I'd know alot?

Allyson also had a good time. She mostly played with her cousin, Darion. She didn't really pay too much attention to the cars. Hopefully we'll keep going often since there's not much to do in Harlingen or San Benito. Oh, by the way, FYI, all the CAMAROS that raced against mustangs ........... LOST :(

Pack Rat

Slowly but surely, I am changing my ways. I'm still am a pack rat, but I can't stand it!! And neither can my husband. I am trying to ask myself, "If I leave this paper here for 1 month, what will I do with it at the end of the month?" Throw it away? More than likely, YES!! SO, I am making the decision of throwing it away TODAY!! In a way, it is funny sometimes. I know what I have and where I have it. One day my husband told me he had made a copy of a movie for his friend @ work, no biggie. BUT, BUT, later that day, I was looking for an orange card stock paper I had in our computer desk. I had written some important info for one of my uncles. Well guess what? I couldn't find it!!! I had just seen it there during the weekend. So I asked Abel if he had seen it or had gotten it?? Of course, he said "NO." I kept looking....and nothing....so I asked Abel again....same answer....NO!! I explained to him that I really needed it!! I started to put two and two together.... movie?? orange paper?? HUH???? Coincidence?? I think not!! I dared ask my man again....He finally went to his mustang and gave me the orange paper!!!! AHA!!! I knew it!!!! He got so mad because he said that the paper had been there for months, untouched or unacknowledged by me, BUT, BUT, the day he got it, I needed it!!!! It was so hilarious to me!!! Did I laugh @ his reaction!! This is not the first time it happens either!!

JAM SESSION

LET MY FINGERS DO THE TALKIN'. I BOUGHT ABEL THE "GUITAR HERO II" GAME FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY. I TRIED IT OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY. IT IS REALLY COOL!!! I FELT I WAS PLAYING AT A ROCK CONCERT. WHEN I DID GOOD, THE FANS WOULD CHEER ME ON, BUT IF I DID BAD, THEY WOULD BOOOOO ME OFF THE STAGE!! ABEL WAS LAUGHING AT ME!!!!

I HAD THE GUITAR STRAPPED ON AND MY FINGERS WERE GOING EVERYWHERE.... IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!! NAH, I DID OK ON THE EASY LEVEL. I THINK I WILL BE THERE FOR A WHILE THOUGH. ABEL DOES PRETTY GOOD, HE SAYS IT IS A LITTLE SIMILAR TO THE REAL THING, BUT I BET MY BROTHER IN LAW, CARLOS, WOULD PROBABLY SAY "NOT" OR MAYBE HE WOULD SAY YES, I DON'T KNOW. HE IS THE FIRST PERSON I SAW PLAYING THIS GAME, AND HE ALSO PLAYS A REAL GUITAR. I HOPE TO GET BETTER AND CHALLENGE MY HUNNY ONE DAY. WE WOULD LIKE TO BUY THE OTHER GAMES, "ROCK THE 80'S" & "TEJANO HITS."

Happy Anniversary @ 2:00 a.m.!!!

Today is our 7th anniversary!! October 7, 2007. We told each other "Happy Anniversary" @ 2 am this year. We couldn't help it, we had to wake up and do it (tell each other!!). Well, actually Adrian woke us up. He has been a little under the weather. Since Wednesday he had a little cough which turned into fever, then into an ear infection, then vomiting, and of course no eating!!! He has been keeping us up @ night. The only thing that seemed to calm him down is praying for him. It is always heartbreaking when your kiddos are ill. So, back to the celebration. We actually didn't get to do anything (that is still on hold). Abel & I are still very happy and feel very blessed to have each other. To make a long story short.....(I don't know if I can do that, I usually go on and on....) OK, we met in 1993 and started dating in 1994 and he officially asked me to "GO AROUND" on June 18, 1994. It was the night of my sister's quinceanera. We met at Rally's Hamburgers. We were part of the first crew when it opened here in San Benito, Texas. It was so much fun working there along with several friends. So in 1998 (I think?) he asked me to marry him, I said yes, and we stayed engaged for another while and finally tied the knot on October 7, 2000. Which I think is really neat, I don't have a hard time remembering our married years. Whatever year we are in, that is how long we have been married.... 2007......7 years..............2020...........20 years, etc... We danced to the song "From this moment" by Shania Twain, but one of our most favorite songs for each other is "Open Arms" by Journey (which I tried putting on the slide show, but it didn't work!!!!!) Faithfully is another song we like.

I wanted to put the picture of when we gave each other our 1st kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Abel Villegas, BUT it is too painful to remember!!!! I don't even like to see it on our video. Abel tells me that I tounged him!!!!!! OUCH!!!! in church! It's toooo embarrasing!!!! He told me that it was not a church little peck or kiss. NO Adriana had to take it to the extreme!!! Chiwawa, ni modo!!

We are so happy we found each other. It is funny because we went to the same school, and I didn't know him!!! He had seen me around though. God knows why he does things. AND several years later....we now have our own little angelic creations. I pray that many more loving years lie ahead of us, forever and ever, AMEN.

Shrimp, Glitter, and Cowboys

What do all of these have in common?? My birthday I guess....
SHRIMP- A shrimp fry was done for me @ my in-laws home on Saturday. Along with all the trimmings...fries & onion rings. Boy, was everything delicious!! Thanks Everyone!

Glitter- My bro & sis in law got me a "gag" gift. The know that I am a sucker for "sparkly" stuff, like glitter makeup or body powder, etc... Can you believe they got me a bottle of glitter and a pack of glue sticks?? They say that I put the glue on my eyes or face and then I throw the glitter on me so it can stick!!

COWBOYS- Duh, need I say more?? DALLAS? Anyways, I also got a "Dallas Cowboys" t-shirt for my b-day. Supposedly they were down 0-3 on Sunday because I was wearing it, WRONG!!!

Do you believe in Aura's?

I'm not sure I do, but the other day, I think I felt a person's aura. I was returning from lunch, and as I headed for the lobby, I could almost feel the presence of a man that had given a speech when I was in Junior High. I can not remember his name. Anyways, I could not see him from where I was at. As I made my way to the elevator...I passed by him...keep in mind, I still haven't seen his face, I believe I just saw his left arm. He was sitting right by the door way I had gone through. When I passed by, I remember asking myself "Is that that man?" So as soon as I got into the elevator, I finally looked at his face..............and it was HIM!!!!! It was too weird for me. I can remember thinking that he was a good man when he gave us his speech @ school. He tries to help people. I have seen him in newspaper articles. I read up a little on auras and anyone can see or feel a person's aura. It just takes practice. That's the only explanation I have.

Thursday, September 20, 2007

I finally figured it out!!

I just read this: "Inside me lives a SKINNY woman crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with COOKIES and CHOCOLATE!!" It took me this long to figure it out!! Now it is all clear to me!!

September 18, 1976

Yesterday was my birthday and for the first time in a long time, I was so excited about it. Once I became an adult or a young adult I really didn't get excited. I would get happy because God gave me another year, but for some reason, this year was different. When I walked out of the house today, after lunch, I still felt this burst of happiness. I thanked the Lord for all the blessings in my life!! I truly am greatful!!!! I love my husband and our children!! I am happy I have my parents and my two grandmas. My family sang "Las Mananitas" to me yesterday. The moment I remember the most is my welita Margarita singing it. She would get a little out of breath but she would keep going. My mom made tamales and a strawberries and glaze cake. My uncle made "pozole." It's like beef soup with chile and hominy. I am still accepting gifts, you can mail them to....J/K!!!

ADDENDUM:.....OH BY THE WAY. AT WORK, MANAGEMENT WENT OUT EAT TO CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS. WE HAD A GOOD TIME @ THE SEAFARER (I might have mispelled it). I had this delicious jalapeno, cheese, and onion stuffed chopped steak. Finger lickin' good! My birthday, what a wonderful day!!! I think I sha'll continue celebrating all week!!

I'd like to introduce the Reyes!!

I asked my little sister for permission to share her slide show and she said ok. They are currently stationed in Virginia. My bro-in-law is a Captain in the army. Carla is 4 years old and Sebastian is 1 yr and 4 months. I love them and miss them all so much!! Here is her slide show at Virginia Beach..........

BOB BOOKS

Allyson, my BABY kindergardener, is READING!! This past week, as I was going to start reading to her, she said "I can read it mommy." I let her, and she took off!!!!! I had no idea she could read!! These are 5th grade level books!!! Just kidding!! Anyways, the books are called "BOB BOOKS." We had not touched these books in over 1 1/2 years. I am so proud of Ally!! She still gets stuck sometimes. I like that at her school, the responsibility is placed on us parents to read to them. The homework sheet asks for the title of the book and our signature. So no excuses!!

New TELEFONO!

I just got my new phone in. I like it!! First of all, it's a girly color. 2nd of all, it has a speaker!!! Believe it or not, I had never owned a phone with a speaker!! Although I don't know what to push to use the speaker yet. I haven't had enough time to play with it. It has an MP3 player and stuff!!! I can't wait to learn about it!! I will post a picture of it as soon as I find my usb cable!!! ADIOS!

Bend & Snap!!

My hunny has been working as a marine technician for a couple of months now. He had not gotten his uniforms yet, until last week. Since he has been wearing them, I tell him I really like the way he looks! There's something about the uniform that I like? So yesterday we even played out the part in "Legally Blonde I".......BEND & SNAP. He started off by telling me "I've got a big one for ya." I dropped my pen, and I did "bend & snap." I tried not to injure his nose though, but he did pretend like I had. He should have known that I was setting him up for a blog!!!! Hee Hee. Anyways, I like his uniform.

****TOP TEN REASONS****

These are my top ten to be considered a blog-a-holic. If you at least meet 4, you're in.

10. You have a blog spot.

9. You get mad because people tell you the comment instead of posting it.

8. You use the phrase "Blog about that" at least 3 times a day.

7. You count blogger logo's at night instead of sheep to go to sleep.

6. Instead of checking your voicemails @ work 1st, you check your comments on blogger.

5. You prepare drafts to post @ a later time.

4. You can't wait for the next day to see if you have any comments!

3. You try to convince others to join the blogging family.

2. Blogging is the last thing you do before bed or you actually stay up very late to be able to blog.

1. You attend blogger anonymous meetings.

Did you meet any? I certainly did. I'm pretty sure we all have our Blog moments. Which is kinda neat though. I'm happy Sal introduced me to this because I also read another true phrase " Maybe if I blog about it, I won't Forget it." I'm really bad with my memory, which my employees can vouch for that. I hope I keep this going long enough for my children to read it later. This is all fun!!!

Need Directions???

Do you need the scenic route or the right way?? On Friday I had a meeting in Mcallen, TX @ South Texas College (STC). I looked @ the map (which I am not good with), I saw 6th street, Col. Rowe, and I said "I know where that's at!" My sister lived in that area. Once I was there I stopped @ Walgreens (Dove & 10th) to ask. The employee there told me, yeah it's around here, "Just follow the watto towo (water tower) (it was an oriental guy ok!) Anyways, I was so proud of myself... I thought "I read the map right!!" I find the watto towo and that's all it was, the water tower said "STC" but no STC under it!!! Long story short, I was on the total opposite side of where I was supposed to be! Needless to say, I found my way. The meeting was very interesting. Did you know that robots are performing surgery here in Mcallen, TX??? I had kinda read a headline a while back, but of course.........I did not read the article. Dr. Rick Martinez was one of our speakers. He is a surgeon which is currently using the robot!!! It was a little scary to me because the patient is on the bed, robot with 4 arms over the pt, and the surgeon is a couple of feet away at the "Surgeon Console." The surgeon controls all of the robots arms of course. Patients are really seeing the benefits of this type of procedure. Quicker recovery, less blood loss, shorter hospital stay, alot less painful, etc!! They are doing procedures such as open heart surgery, hysterectomies, urologic, and others. Just to tell you this, with open heart surgery, they would have to cut the sternum. With the Robot, they go in through the rib cage!!!We got to see a video, which was really neat! The scary part is that Dr. Martinez said that the future is......FOR EXAMPLE.. The patient will be in Harlingen, TX and the surgeon doing the surgery will be in Houston, TX!!!! How freaky is that?? He did say, the only way he would have surgery like that would be with a live surgeon also at the patient's bedside (just incase). Patients still have 3 choices right now.

  • Open all up
  • Laparoscopically
  • Robotic

We also had another very good speaker...Aaron Lara from the LIVEstrong Foundation (http://www.livestrong.org/). At age 28, he survived a horrible case of testicular cancer. He is an advocate of the LIVEstrong Foundation, founded by "Lance Armstrong," champion cyclist. Mr. Lara, now 32 says this is his passion. The LIVEstrong Foundation has an awesome resource for anyone dealing with cancer. A copy of the manual can be obtained from him for free or from the website for a fee. Although I don't like to talk about this subject, I had to mention it because he is doing his part to spread the word of support, and I'd like to help, even if it's a little.

"Pretend we are in San Antonio"

I had to use that title just one more time for my brother in law "Iggy." We were supposed to go to San Antonio this weekend, but due to the weather being unpredictable, we decided to stay here. So Iggy said I had killed that phrase already because everywhere we'd go, I'd say "Remember, we have to pretend we are in San Antonio." Anyways, on Saturday we went to Schlitterbahn in South Padre Island. "We" is us and my sis in law, bro in law, niece and nephew. We had a great time!! I had never been to Schlitterbahn before. The weather was really nice, sunny then kinda cloudy. There were several highlights during the day. 1st one....once on the "Rapids ride" I was in a double tube with Adrian, Ally was in a double tube by herself, and my sister in law & Hailey were in a double tube. The guys had gone on another ride. I was so scared that Adrian or Ally were going to be thrown out of the tubes during the drop in the rapids. (Remember, all of this was new to me.) Thank God that they did not jump out. Meanwhile, my niece was having the time of her life!! Hailey wanted to go through the ride again, and everytime she said that, Ally would say, in a mad tone "Well I don't!!!!!!!!!" Ally can't stand water falling on her face. Highlight #2 We were at the children's section "The Sandcastle Cove" and Adrian was walking around everywhere. I kept following him...but my beach pants were loose. I untied them while he was standing next to me, and then HE TAKES OFF!! Of course, my paranoid mind forgot about my pants, I let them go to grab Adrian............OOOOOPPPSSS, my pants fell to the ground!!! All my family was laughing, I quickly hid behind a big pole to pick up my pants and tie them up!! The employee that was there by the slides was also laughing at me!!!! Afterwards my hubby was telling me that I was trying to dance with the pole!! NOT very nice. Highlight #3 Bo, Iggy, and my hunny were in line for a ride. I happened to see Bo finish the ride so I knew Iggy was next, I waited to take take a picture of him, then Abel. Iggy comes out, I take his pic, so I am ready to snap my hunny's picture, I am waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and No Abel!?!?!? Then all of a sudden the water from the ride stops!!!! I took a couple steps back and I could see that Abel was stuck on top of the ride!!!! He looked so funny!!! An employee ran up there to save him! Needless to say, we all had funny moments!

BELLDANCERS ARE NOT STRIPPERS!!!

This past Saturday I had my first bellydance performance!! It was a lot of fun!! We danced at an assisted living place called Canterbury Court. I guess you could say that I was not that nervous. The only thing that kept wanting to make me nervous was thinking that I would forget the moves!!! 1st we danced a Shakira song, then I did my solo, Yadira did her solo, Jennifer did hers, and then finally we all did "Don't Cha."
I've never been dancer inclined. I can't even believe that I have the guts to be dancing now. Ever since I went to the Bellydancing class at the gym, I've been totally hooked. It really helps that my friend Jennifer bellydances aswell. I hope to improve in my moves. After seeing the video, I see where I need major improvements. I will try to post a piece of the video later. Meanwhile, here are very few pics......

Zoo Zoo Zoo!!!!

Today was Adrian's 1st trip to the zoo!! Although it was kinda hot, he enjoyed it. He mainly wanted to get off the stroller to walk. He didn't even want assistance!!
He was afraid of some animals. Especially at the petting zoo. Every time I would try to place his hand on the goat, he'd pull his little hand away. Unfortunately, Ally fell and scraped her knees. But you know kids, you tell them "Don't run!!" and that's exactly what they do!!! At the end of your visit, Adrian chose a toy snake as his souvenir. Overall, we had a good time with our family. My mom-in-law, sis-in-law, bro-in-law and niece spent the day together.

Finally registered for kindergarden!!!!!

Don't you hate being a procrastinator??????? I do, but I don't learn my lesson. I "berly" registered Ally for school! Just two days short of school starting. That's not good!! Every year I tell myself......do things on time!! I have gotten better @ some things though.

As soon as I entered the elementary school, I got very nervous. I got nervous because she belongs to another school, but this school is way more convenient due to child care after school. When I sat down with the secretary, my legs began to shake. The more paperwork she gave me, the more my legs would shake (ON THEIR OWN!) or as we call it in BELLY DANCING, my legs were doing the "shimmy" on their own. My purse was bouncing! I figured for sure this lady was going to bust me!!! I was hoping she would not ask me for the address out loud, but she did! I don't have it memorized, because I don't ever use it. I managed to say it but, I left out a little something which she didn't catch (I think??) Bottom line______ I survived!! I walked out of there weak, of so much leg exercise. I'm serious, if you ask me to show you how fast my legs were moving, I couldn't do it!!

My Mom

My mami is just something else! I told her I was going to blog about her and she gave me permission. She does sooooo many funny things unintentionaly. So many of her "shows" as my sister and I call them, you would need to be present so I can act out the way she does things. Most of the time, she feels they are not funny, but they are hilarious to us. She says that what goes around comes around. She used to laugh at my grandma, OH my grandma does funny things too. I guess I'll tell you one where they were both involved. Around Katrina time, they were both visiting family in Florida. They decided to go to one of the many beaches. My mom went and bought a bathing suit and so did my grandma. So my mom is enjoying the waves with her eyeglasses hanging from her bathing suit. My grandma sees her enjoying the waves and decides that she will do the same. My grandma is 80 some years old, so as soon as she hits the waves, they start to take her in. Since she now realized she is not as strong as she used to be, she starts to panic. She attempts to get up, but the next wave takes her down again and again and again. By this time my mom notices and she does the baywatch thing to do......save my g-ma. Afterwards, they laugh about it, BUT my mom was not laughing as hard, her eyeglasses were floating somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. We asked her, "Who goes to the beach with their eyeglasses hanging freely?" Her reply was......"I didn't know I was going to have to throw myself in to save your granda!" You should see my g-ma acting out how the waves would take her down!!!

BOOGER-HEAD!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that everyone has had a BOOGER-HEAD moment. Well, in my case, according to my bad a** brother-in-law and bad a** sister-in-law, and not to mention my manly husband, those moments happen to me almost everyday. So we have this booger-head club, in which they ALL take part of also.
Define.......... "booger-head"---------Dried nasal mucus, ok, never mind, that's not the type of booger I am talking about. Anyways, did I just have a moment? Well, let me give you an example..........Today we went over to my bro & sis in-law to eat grilled burgers, which were very good by the way. While I was there, my friend Jen calls me on our only cell phone. I answer and I'm talking to her and then she asked me if I had recieved the text message she had sent me earlier? I told her I had not because I didn't know where the phone was, so like a booger-head I start looking for it. Of course my sister in law had to be present to witness me looking for the phone I was holding in my hand and using. Boy, did we crack up!!! My brother-in-law is the one that comes up with these silly names. Like "HEARSEY SQUIRTS." You can imagine what he's talking about?

Man-ly Body Wash?

It took my husband almost 7 years to decide to smell Man-ly after a shower (Although he doesn't need to smell like one cuz he is one). When we went to Wally-Martinez tonight he bought a manly bodywash. (I know some of you don't want to know that) Anyways, when he told me he wanted to buy one, I was surprised. So, he just got out of the shower awhile ago and he tells me, smell me....I smell....MMMM smells good!!! Then he says, "I was tired of smelling like my wife!" "I wanted my own!" I can't believe he was tired of smelling like Berries and Cream Smoothie LOL!!

Bubbly........

This is what people tend to think of me. I wonder why? All I usually ever do is smile like crazy, try to make people smile, have a good time with all I can..well, I think you get my drift. BUT, the bubbly I'm talking about is not me. There is a song that my little sister loves. She has a my space thing and she likes to play that song on her space. One day about 2 months ago in Mcallen, TX I went over to her house and she showed me her "My space" space (is that how you say it?) Anyways, as I was browsing her page, she would keep replaying the song "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat. I didn't get to really pay attention to what the song was saying, but it had a nice tune. Before that day I had never heard that song. Now she is in Virginia, and I keep hearing the song. I have grown to really like this song because of her. I can't help but get a huge smile on my face when I hear the song because I think of her. She is two years younger than me so I get to call her my baby sister. I love her so much and I thank God so much for her. We have always been close, but as the years have passed, we tend to get closer. I regret not doing more things with her in high school. When I think about what I missed out with her, I kick my self in the rear. I have told her this and being the awesome sister that she is, she tells me that we were both young and we didn't know any better. I guess what I should think is that all that matters is the present and the future.
I have always been an emotional type of person, but when I was pregnant with our first child....I would cry if I didn't see my sister often. At that time she was attending UTPA (university). So I would call her crying and she would console me. I am so lucky to have a sister like her. She deserves the best and she's got it. I love you sis!!!
Incase you've never heard the song............here it is....

LUAU TIME

On Saturday we went to a luau party. My daughter and my niece dressed the part. They looked so adorable! Too bad they didn't serve the roasted pig, but they did serve some very good chicken, fajitas, and sausage and of course with all the trimmings. Anyways, here is what the girls looked like........

BAND-AIDS......

Taking your little ones to the doctor is never fun. Today I had to take Adrian to get his immunizations. Compared to his other visits, this has been his worst. He didn't even want the physician to examine him. To top it off, he had to get blood drawn! It broke my heart when they could not find his little vein. So someone else had to try it on his other little arm. After that, came his 3 immunizations. A total of 5 band-aids :( I took him home very upset. He fell asleep in the car, so when I got home, I laid him down. Even in his sleep, you could still hear him sighing. Ouch! But now he is all better, thank God it is only temporary. :) OH, you know what Sister Ally did? While Adrian was sleeping, she could hear him sighing, so she placed a little ceramic angel I have by his side. She said that it was so it could protect him. What a little darling!!

THE BIG "ONE"

Our little boy has just turned ONE!!! We had a little get together at Peter Piper Pizza. He had such a great time!! He loved the balloons and his cake. He was crawling everywhere and also taking his very first steps. We were accompanied by family and friends. It seems like he was just born a couple of months ago. He is a little character. It is so funny because everyone tells me he looks like daddy BUT, he has mommy's attitude.........LOUD!!! Hee, Hee. And on the other hand, they say our daughter looks like me but she has her daddy's attitude........QUIET AND SHY. I must say, my husband is no longer shy, he says he was when he was young (Hard to believe). I'm so happy that Adrian Ethan is blessed, healthy, funny, and gorgeous....DUH, what can I say? Here are some pictures....

STRESSING

I have been stressing since yesterday about what to blog. As I sit here tonight, I am still stressing. I just hope I can get some sleep tonight. Last night I would wake up and think "What am I going to blog about?" Oh well, maybe soon my brain will start to help me soon. I asked my husband to help me, he suggested talking about his cars. Which they happen to be the cars I also like very much...................MUSTANGS!! I will never forget the day I got my 1999 Atlantic Blue Mustang. I bought it in Raymondville, TX. I had always wanted a brand new mustang with a CD player and some cold AC. And I got it!! I was so happy, but my dad was not. He said I got the car because my boyfriend (Abel) had a mustang. WRONG!!!! Anyways, I enjoyed my car for about 7 years, until we had to trade it for a Taurus. We seriously needed a 4 door vehicle because there was one baking in the oven! Someday I will own another Mustang.
