Kinder Awards Ceremony

This is my Skyla's first awards ceremony. I wish they would've had a graduation ceremony :( But this was still fun for me and my hunny. Ally received an award for The Book It Club, NO tardies for the entire year, and of course, her Kindergarden Certificate. We are so proud of our little darling. This year she got tested for the GT program and she passed her test!! I pray that she always do good in school.

I learned that now a days, kids can graduate from high school with about 60hrs of college? That would be a junior! OMG, all of it without the parents having to pay extra! College books alone are super expensive! I will always encourage our children to do better. It will all be worth it in the end.

Way to go Mamas! I know you will do great in 1st grade. Meanwhile, enjoy your "alot of days of summer" (as she says)

H.E.B.

I will make anywhere between 2-3 visits to H.E.B. a week. One of my favorite things to do at the frozen section is to take a whiff of the white little smoke in the freezers. I know that's kinda weird but every time I'm there, I have to get way into the freezer and take a deep breath. I hope it just looks like I'm taking a very close look at the non-fattening ingredients on the ice-cream label. Ha. I would be in that section instead of the veggies wouldn't I?

One of my non-favorite things is when I keep my mouth shut. Like tonight. I get on the 10 items or less EXPRESS lane, but the person in front of me has over 20 items!!! I have rehearsed this line in my head "Since I do have 10 items or less, can I go before you?" BUT the phrase never makes it out of my thoughts!! I stand there and get even more mad because I didn't say anything. If I were them, I wouldn't get offended. Anyways, there they are in line, looking around like to avoid looking at the blinking sign that says "TEN ITEMS OR LESS." I tell you! I wonder if the cashiers can tell them anything? They never do! One of these days I'm going to open my mouth, but everytime I do, I just stick my foot in my mouth..... aver que?

Noooooo!

"No" is Adrian's new favorite word. He uses it even if he means yes. Yesterday, while we were driving to purchase yet another Mustang coupe for Babel, Adrian made Ally mad. Allyson kept begging for Olive Garden. We kept telling her to hold on... Finally I told her that if Adrian wanted OG, we would go. I told Abel to ask Adrian, guess what he answered... Noooo! We asked him several times, NO was the answer everytime. By this time we were laughing because Ally really wanted Adrian to say "yes." After so many no's, Ally was already in tears!! What made us crack up though, was when she yelled at us "Adrian, you're not the BOSS of me!!!!" Where she heard or learned that, we don't know? But it sure was hilarious!! After all the commotion and her getting even more mad because we were laughing, we got her her favorite entree, chicken parmesan. Was she happy after all this, of course! I'm still trying to video tape Adrian say "Noooooo!" As soon as I have a good video, I'll post it.

OH what a MoNdaY!

I don't know where to start, but for sure, things happen for a reason. Today I had to get to work early because I did not finish something on Friday, I had gotten busy at the end of the day. As soon as I walked into the department, I remembered one of my staff members was going to be out! I didn't remember if I had coverage. Being a Monday, of course I didn't! Rewind, before I walked into the building, I spilled milk on my purse as I put the keys away. I walked into the lounge to clean it up. That's when I saw Angie in there. Now forward to no coverage. I hurried up and did part of what I had to finish on Friday to start the duties of my absent employee. Since I knew Angie was in the lounge, I called her to the lounge and asked her if she could, to please come in early so she could help me. She gladly came in early.

Now rewind again to 4:40 am, no one went walking with me, so I took off to the gym to do aerobics. Usually when I do aerobics, I get this tremendous energy afterwards. My employees can usually tell when I have done aerobics in the morning.

Anyways, I felt like wearing my scrubs and tennis today, which I had not worn in well over a month. Who knew I would need a lot of energy this morning and that I would be more comfortable in my scrubs? Only God. That's why he set up everything for me. Even if it meant spilling milk on my purse. If I had not gone into the lounge, I would've been lost this morning. So, everything happens for a reason, even if you don't like what's going on.

The only part I'm still trying to figure out is why did I have to come home after lunch to double check if I had disconnected the George Foreman? Which I had. Oh well, better safe than sorry.

San Antonio Weekend Getaway...

Just like that, we said "Go for it!" and we went to San Antonio for the weekend. The Ybarras and my mom-in-law were also part of the gang. We did the usual thing, the Riverwalk, mall, and eat! The food at the Hard Rock Cafe was so good! We all tasted each other's food. This weekend was the first time we ever got on the little boat ride. It started to spinkle on us, but not enough to scare us.

You had to have been there for this next little story, but I'll still mention it. While at the mall, we were going up and down the escalators, even though my mom-in-law didn't like them, and even though we would have a hard time with the stroller. Finally we used the elevator, but the door wouldn't open to let out to the Riverwalk. It would only open to the parking garage side. A guy tried to get into the elevator with us, but the door was closing, so he tried stopping it by holding his hand into the elevator and I yelled "NO!!!!" The door wasn't stopping, I thought his hand was going to get chopped off!! We all started laughing and he decided to skip the elevator.

On Sunday we visited Gruene, Texas. Gruene is pronounced like the color GREEN. It's a neat historic little bitty town. It all looks old fashion. I enjoy visiting Guene when we go to San Antonio. The restaurant we ate at is good. You can dine inside or outside with trees all around. Overall we had a good weekend, away from San Benito.

One more thing...I laughed my rear off on Saturday because of my mom-in-law. She gets nervous around all the traffic and construction. Abel, her, and I could not see anymore because of the tears in our eyes. You know how laughter is contagious, well, it sure got us! So much fun!!

This is us there....

Last Saturday my cousin Daniel graduated from Pan Am. I promise, we were there for the graduation ceremony. I just didn't get to take any pictures with him because I left a little before it finished. My cousins wife is prego, and she was starving, poor baby!!! I had to ask my cousin to please send me a picture of him. We are all so proud of him! He graduted with HONORS. He got his Bachelor's in science. He has been accepted into the P.A. program! Way to go Danny!!! I wish him the best of luck! OMG, when they announced his name... I yelled as loud as I possibly could. Afterwards, the lady infront of us turned back and told me I could've of warned her. As if!! Ok, sorry ma'am! (My sister helped me with the title, because I told her we went and took pictures of ourselves)

Hanging out with the ANIMALS...

I accompanied Allyson and her little classmates on their field trip today. We went to the Glady's Porter Zoo. We had fun and thank God it wasn't that hot. She was paired up with Gabriela. Gabriela was a little more daring than Ally. Skyla did not want to touch any animals! But her little friend touched several animals, including a snake!!!! Not even I dared touch that one. Time went by so fast, I feel we didn't even get to see all the animals. It also felt good being out of work for a day. I'm grateful for my job, but a day off during the week is nice.

After the zoo we went to eat at Peter Piper Pizza. My sister-in-law was also there because my niece was also eating there. Hailey had gone to the Art Museum. The girls got to play together :) My sister-in-law paid for my lunch, awe, how nice. (Buffet...2 for the price of 1, hee hee)

After being in the sun and eating, mommy had to go cool down at a place called "Sunrise Mall." The End.

Six Blessed Years

Ally's birthday was on May 9th. She turned six years. I took her candy bags, cupcakes, cookies, and juices to her classroom. Later that night, we celebrated at Peter Piper Pizza. She was so happy, which made us happy. Adrian and Ally are such big blessings in our lives. So anytime we can do anything to make them happy and smile, were there! Three of her little school friends showed up at Peter Piper Pizza. She was excited.

I love you baby doll!!! She had a Hanna Montana party. The little girls got glittery lip glosses in their baggies :) Boys got hacky sacks, putty, or crayons. Now she is a big girl.

Controversial T-Shirt

I bought this T-shirt a couple of months ago. I think it's cool and I like it. Well, Abel doesn't like it. Once I tried wearing it when I was going to hang out with the girls, but he made me change! It made me laugh, and I didn't put up a fight, I changed. No biggie. He said that if he'd see a nice looking girl wearing a shirt like that, he'd think "Hey, she likes to have fun!" So, of course I told the girls what happened.

Two weeks ago or so, the children and I went to watch the De La Joya fight at Eric's house. I wore my shirt, because I wasn't going out anywhere, it was a house we were going to. The funny part was that the girls that new the story about my t-shirt went also. As soon as they saw me, they said "You wore the shirt!" Abel was out of town, hee hee. But that's not why I wore it!

Anyways, tonight I wore it to go to the grocery store. The male cashier asked me "So girls just want to have fun huh?" This is the second time my shirt gets pointed out. I can't help but think of Abel and his thoughts and I then get a huge smile on my face. I got home and told him about it. The looks he was giving me were funny!!! It's just a t-shirt! But if he doesn't like it, too BAD...... Just kidding hun! Maybe he should just buy me a shirt to replace this one? Or else I'll wear another one he is afraid of, the "I'm late" one. (I used this shirt mainly TWICE, to let him know we were prego) Pick one hun............

A never ending story.....

Today is Mother's Day. I woke up late, and Allyson woke up even later. But the first words out of her mouth were... "Happy Mother's Day Mommy!" I know she was anxious to shower me with the little gifts she had made at school. I had been strictly prohibited from looking under her bed all weekend long. She went to her room and came back with my gifts she made. Of course, I cried, hugged her, and told her how much I loved her gifts.

Daddy also gave me some WONDERFUL gifts. A digital frame and a perfume, Chance by Chanel. He really went all out! I love my family! We visited my mother in law and I later visited my mom at my grandma's.

Unfortunately Skyla got sick. I took her to the doctor :( Hopefully she'll be fine and dandy tomorrow. I love being a mommy and taking care of them. I don't ever want this story to end, the one of being a mommy. I always want to provide them with love, support, a shoulder to cry on, an applause or cheer, and of course, with the word of God. I believe that with all of this, they will be able to survive and handle what they might encounter in this world. This story does not have to end because if we teach them well, they will remember all of this even if we are not here in this world with them.

Ally's Lunch

Allyson will let us know if she will be eating the school food or if she would like for me to pack lunch. Daddy hardly ever packs it for her. As per Daddy, I usually don't pack her a napkin....OMG, what a sin! Abel told me to do so, so I did. One morning I had to send Abel to HEB because we were missing something for her lunch. So I had already started to pack what we did have. Bueno, Abel comes and finishes it up. Does he take full credit? Yes! As if! Not only that, he places a little love note for Ally. Which I must add, Allyson Skyla loved it. So Ally says that Daddy packs the best lunches! Whatever baby! Mommy does :)

Little stories....

These little stories are so I won't forget what made me laugh today or what I did.....

1st- My nephew Bo. On the way home after work, some little gangster kid was driving next to us. Bo motioned his head like saying "What's up?" to him, the kid thought something else. He would speed up to be right next to us and stare at us!! I didn't want to look over at him, but my nephew kept looking, last thing I remember hearing Bo say was "Nah, I'm cool." But the look on Bo's face, priceless. Had to be there. I was cracking up! Then Bo looks at me like, "shut up!" As a matter of fact, he did ask me why I was laughing.

2nd- I went to The RGV Arts Studio 13th Annual Gala (Ballet show). So beautiful. So many girls and three boys performed. They even had Bellydancing Mermaids. You know I was shaking my hips! I took Allyson and Hailey. The baby girls that looked like 3-4 year olds were the cutest. One was tying her ballerina shoes instead of dancing. By the end of the show, Skyla and Hailey were tired. Hailey had fallen asleep, woke up, and was asking for McDonald's, so there goes Tia.

3rd- Skyla and I finally make it home. For several weeks now, some puppies and kittens have been hanging out on our lot. Of course, Sky is terrified. I got off the car and noticed that she was checking through the window to make sure they weren't standing outside of the car. I thought it looked cute and funny, so I started laughing. So she assumed that the little puppies or kitties were out there. She refused to get off the car! She was holding down the lock! She would not let me unlock it! I tried and tried to convince her that nothing was out there. She finally got off the car crying. My chiquita.

MySpace

Several months back I signed up for MySpace. I first heard about it 3 years ago, around our high school reunion time. I was scared to sign up, I thought it was dumb. And look at me now, I sign in just about everyday. Well, mainly if I have comments. That's the silliest part though, you have to sign in to Myspace in order to see your comments. You get an email letting you know you have comments, but it doesn't tell you what they are, NOT COOL!

Anyways, the other day I was wondering, "Will I ever be too old for this?" It's a neat way to keep in contact though. So we'll just see. I just hope it doesn't get me in trouble. Nah, I behave :P

And I've got news for you, Mr. Abel Villegas took the plunge!! Ha, ha, ha, he signed up for MySpace tonight! Boy, you better believe I signed on right away to post him his first comment :) and I'm his first friend, well, besides TOM. I remember when I first signed up, TOM appeared as my friend. I didn't know who he was, so naturally I got scared and deleted him. My sister then told me he was the founder or whatever he is. My sister and FALLBACK are the main reasons I signed up. FALLBACK is the band my brother in law, Carlos, sings with over yonder in Virginia. So through Myspace, I was able to listen to his music :)

My Dad

"Honor your mother and father" I don't know if I'm being stubborn, or just plain disobedient. I have not seen my dad in well over a month or maybe even two months? And to top it off, we live in the same town! It has been bothering me! Just about everyday, something crosses my path that reminds me of him. I haven't even made the attempt to call him. He has been the one calling me, when he would never do that before. There are no excuses for my actions. What he has done or is doing should not matter. The problem is that when I do think about him, I get this grrrr feeling.

I spoke with a person the other day and she told me that she had a similar relationship with her dad. One day her dad was gone, due to a car accident. It was hard on her and she wishes it would've been different. That is one of my fears.....
I say I'm not holding a grudge, but maybe I am? I hope not. Several months ago, during a family meeting, I told my dad the way I have always seen his priorities.... himself, work, drinking, buddies, then maybe FAMILY. I don't remember what he said to that. But I do remember him telling me that we would continue the meeting the next day, he had to go to a pool tournament..... go figure. I have always been praying for him, have had patience for him, and have been understanding, a person can only do so much. I should leave this in God's hands, but what am I supposed to do with this feeling inside? I don't want for him to end up alone!

Little Abel

So here is Abel at 5 years old. Does't that little smile say it all? I wonder what kind of "travesuras" he would do at this age. I could mention several that have been told to me, but I don't want to cross that line. I would be sleeping in an ugly dog house :( Baby, all I have to say is that I want Adrian to grow his hair like yours!!!
