Patience My Child

Even before my hunny and I had children, I learned that you MUST have patience with them. I had witnessed many parents ignoring their children out of frustration or just because they didn't have time for them. Since I was the spectator, I could see what the child was needing or was trying to say to mommy or daddy. Most of the time all the child needed was a simple answer or was in one way or another trying to help mommy/daddy. For example, at the grocery store...child keeps saying "Mommy, mommy, look, look!" And of course the parents were too busy to pay attention or were already mad, and all the child was trying to say was that the next register was empty! I almost lost my patience tonight!! I was in the bedroom with our children, trying to put them to sleep. Allyson kept talking and talking. It was almost 10:00 p.m. on a school night........ She kept asking questions???? On her last comment, I was ready to say "YAAAAAA!!!" BUT, I kept my cool and asked her "What mamita?" She told me, we forgot to pray! I asked God to forgive me and she prayed. It's like I heard one day "WERE OUR CHILDREN SENT TO US SO WE COULD TEACH THEM OR SO THAT WE COULD LEARN FROM THEM?"

GOT CHEESE??

It would happen to me, wouldn't it? I was having an afternoon snack and it landed on my laps!!! My pants survived, but my shirt stayed very stained. I was at work so I could not do much! Oh well, there's no point in crying over spilled cheese. I had one of my employees named Adriana to take a picture w/my phone. She also took a pic w/her phone. :(

When it got cold

Usually I am not the prepared kind. I am not prepared for cold weather, rain, or snow (snow?). But for the first time in forever, I was prepared. This past Monday, when it got cold here in the hot valley, I was so proud of myself. I sent my daughter to school with long sleeve, jacket, jeans and all!! Mind you, it still wasn't cold yet. I took a light jacket to work and was waiting for the cold front to come in. As soon as it came in, co-workers began to say "I didn't send my kiddos to school with a jacket & they are wearing shorts!!!" I, being prepared, held my head high and said "YESSSSSS!" It felt good! I told everyone that the only reason I was prepared was because I get up early to go walk, and that gives me enough time to see the "Team 4 News." It's no wonder older people are wiser, they get up early, read the paper, drink coffee, have breakfast, watch the news, etc... Oh no!!! Does this mean I'm getting older, NAH. I still don't drink coffee. Weno, till next cold front, cuz it's leaving us!!!

Friday Night Racing...........

I can't believe it had been over a year since the last time I had gone to the Edinburg Racetrack!! I missed hearing and seeing those FAST, LOUD, FORD MUSTANGS!!! It was fun. This was also Adrian's 1st time there. He seemed to enjoy the races also. Every time a loud car would pass by on the drag strip, he'd giggle and he wouldn't get his eyes off of the car, but as soon as I would put him down, he was offfff. He'd walk and walk and walk. Ally and I had to keep chasing him!! Adrian thinks he can fly or something. He takes off walking really fast or running and he pushes his arms back and is wiggling his fingers. I guess you'd have to see him so you could know what I'm talking about.

Abel's cousins were out there cooking out some delicious fajitas and chicken. Abel's brother is in town from Freeport, Texas and he also went out there with us. All that Abel and Sam could talk about on the way to Edinburg was cars. I try to learn all that car talk, but it doesn't seem to stick. Although, I do understand some. When my hunny works on cars, I go out there sometimes and he'll teach me and test me. My dad is a mechanic, you'd think I'd know alot?

Allyson also had a good time. She mostly played with her cousin, Darion. She didn't really pay too much attention to the cars. Hopefully we'll keep going often since there's not much to do in Harlingen or San Benito. Oh, by the way, FYI, all the CAMAROS that raced against mustangs ........... LOST :(

Pack Rat

Slowly but surely, I am changing my ways. I'm still am a pack rat, but I can't stand it!! And neither can my husband. I am trying to ask myself, "If I leave this paper here for 1 month, what will I do with it at the end of the month?" Throw it away? More than likely, YES!! SO, I am making the decision of throwing it away TODAY!! In a way, it is funny sometimes. I know what I have and where I have it. One day my husband told me he had made a copy of a movie for his friend @ work, no biggie. BUT, BUT, later that day, I was looking for an orange card stock paper I had in our computer desk. I had written some important info for one of my uncles. Well guess what? I couldn't find it!!! I had just seen it there during the weekend. So I asked Abel if he had seen it or had gotten it?? Of course, he said "NO." I kept looking....and nothing....so I asked Abel again....same answer....NO!! I explained to him that I really needed it!! I started to put two and two together.... movie?? orange paper?? HUH???? Coincidence?? I think not!! I dared ask my man again....He finally went to his mustang and gave me the orange paper!!!! AHA!!! I knew it!!!! He got so mad because he said that the paper had been there for months, untouched or unacknowledged by me, BUT, BUT, the day he got it, I needed it!!!! It was so hilarious to me!!! Did I laugh @ his reaction!! This is not the first time it happens either!!

JAM SESSION

LET MY FINGERS DO THE TALKIN'. I BOUGHT ABEL THE "GUITAR HERO II" GAME FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY. I TRIED IT OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY. IT IS REALLY COOL!!! I FELT I WAS PLAYING AT A ROCK CONCERT. WHEN I DID GOOD, THE FANS WOULD CHEER ME ON, BUT IF I DID BAD, THEY WOULD BOOOOO ME OFF THE STAGE!! ABEL WAS LAUGHING AT ME!!!!

I HAD THE GUITAR STRAPPED ON AND MY FINGERS WERE GOING EVERYWHERE.... IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!! NAH, I DID OK ON THE EASY LEVEL. I THINK I WILL BE THERE FOR A WHILE THOUGH. ABEL DOES PRETTY GOOD, HE SAYS IT IS A LITTLE SIMILAR TO THE REAL THING, BUT I BET MY BROTHER IN LAW, CARLOS, WOULD PROBABLY SAY "NOT" OR MAYBE HE WOULD SAY YES, I DON'T KNOW. HE IS THE FIRST PERSON I SAW PLAYING THIS GAME, AND HE ALSO PLAYS A REAL GUITAR. I HOPE TO GET BETTER AND CHALLENGE MY HUNNY ONE DAY. WE WOULD LIKE TO BUY THE OTHER GAMES, "ROCK THE 80'S" & "TEJANO HITS."

Happy Anniversary @ 2:00 a.m.!!!

Today is our 7th anniversary!! October 7, 2007. We told each other "Happy Anniversary" @ 2 am this year. We couldn't help it, we had to wake up and do it (tell each other!!). Well, actually Adrian woke us up. He has been a little under the weather. Since Wednesday he had a little cough which turned into fever, then into an ear infection, then vomiting, and of course no eating!!! He has been keeping us up @ night. The only thing that seemed to calm him down is praying for him. It is always heartbreaking when your kiddos are ill. So, back to the celebration. We actually didn't get to do anything (that is still on hold). Abel & I are still very happy and feel very blessed to have each other. To make a long story short.....(I don't know if I can do that, I usually go on and on....) OK, we met in 1993 and started dating in 1994 and he officially asked me to "GO AROUND" on June 18, 1994. It was the night of my sister's quinceanera. We met at Rally's Hamburgers. We were part of the first crew when it opened here in San Benito, Texas. It was so much fun working there along with several friends. So in 1998 (I think?) he asked me to marry him, I said yes, and we stayed engaged for another while and finally tied the knot on October 7, 2000. Which I think is really neat, I don't have a hard time remembering our married years. Whatever year we are in, that is how long we have been married.... 2007......7 years..............2020...........20 years, etc... We danced to the song "From this moment" by Shania Twain, but one of our most favorite songs for each other is "Open Arms" by Journey (which I tried putting on the slide show, but it didn't work!!!!!) Faithfully is another song we like.

I wanted to put the picture of when we gave each other our 1st kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Abel Villegas, BUT it is too painful to remember!!!! I don't even like to see it on our video. Abel tells me that I tounged him!!!!!! OUCH!!!! in church! It's toooo embarrasing!!!! He told me that it was not a church little peck or kiss. NO Adriana had to take it to the extreme!!! Chiwawa, ni modo!!

We are so happy we found each other. It is funny because we went to the same school, and I didn't know him!!! He had seen me around though. God knows why he does things. AND several years later....we now have our own little angelic creations. I pray that many more loving years lie ahead of us, forever and ever, AMEN.
