A Bug's Life

WARNING: This could be gross to some. Please do not read if you easily get grossed out!!

A couple of weeks ago...during our usual morning walk, my Friend Christina & I were walking & laughing & talking. We were almost done with our 1st mile when i saw a bug flying towards me at the very same second I had my mouth open!! It immediately made itself comfortable in my throat!!!! I'm sure bugs have flown into your mouth one time or another...si?

Anyways, it flew in so far into my mouth, that i could not spit it out! No biggie I figured, I'll just have to swallow it :-/ I'm serious! This sucker was way in there. Oh my! Was i mistaken! When i attempted to swallow.......I began to gag soooo bad! And gag, and gag, i think you know what i mean...

So bad that the bug & the night's before dinner decided to come out!!!! My poor friend didn't know what to do!! I signaled her & told her: "KEEP GOING!!! KEEP GOING!!"

And that was the end of that Bug's Life :(

ZERO miles to EMPTY

Now, what does that title tell you? Obviously Adri doesn't get it!

Tonight we had a "High School Reunion Planning Meeting." I was running late, so i was in a hurry to get there, and like always, I said "I'll tank up afterwards."

We all left La Playa and before getting to Payless on 77 by HEB(like a block before), my car SHUT down. I still had doubts it was the gas! So i coasted it all the way to the HEB parking lot. I ALMOST made it to the gas station! I was pushing forward in my seat, KIDDING! I am amazed at how far i was able to coast it!! I was just hoping nobody would get in my way, I couldn't afford to brake!

I had to start with the process of elimination, as Abel has taught me. (OH, now i listen to him) I got off and went inside HEB and bought the stupidest gas tank thing ever! I WAS SO EMBARRASSED BUYING IT AND ESPECIALLY PUTTING gas in it!!! GRRRRR! Que awite carrying the portable gas tank and spilling the gas. I didn't close it right :( During the walk from the station to my car, i kept telling people to "Shut UP!" I could read their minds! Making fun of me!

The cashier had told me if i needed help just to go tell him. Well, i did :( It took 4 of us to figure out that dumb thing. Ok 5, the manager counts also. Que show!! All this time i was scared to. I really hope i learned my lesson, chiwawas! I keep nodding my head and rolling my eyes......can't believe it happened!

P.S. What a story I have for my hubby in the morning! Tonight i just gave him a kiss and told him i was home. Why would i want to mess up his sleep? I am considerate ;)

Another type of Love

My mom showed up today to plant some "Teresitas" for Skyla. My mom is doing this out of he kindness of her heart. Plants, flowers & gardening is one of my mom's & grandma's FAVORITE past time.

Before I walked outside with my mom, I was observing her from my front door. I began to feel this weird feeling. My heart was beating at a different speed. Or a different rhythm? You see, my mom is just something else. We can't always feel her closeness or love or I don't know how to explain this. But I guess seeing her out there, just tugged my heart. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO WITHOUT HER. What's amazing is that we don't talk or see each other as often as we should. Who's responsible for this, dunno? Every parent has their own way of showing LOVE. And I must learn to accept how my mom is.

I finally grabbed my camera and went outside. I was able to snap the pics without her noticing (Except for the last one). She was passing on some of her gardening tips and she was giving me instructions on how to water the Teresitas. The other day it was a good cloudy day here in the RGV and she took advantage by spending the entire day in therapy, aka...Gardening :)

I even got into it and grabbed "The Pala" (Shovel). I can see where this all could be relaxing and serve as a distraction from other stuff. I must buy me some gloves though. I don't think that having dirt under my nails is sexy, hehe.

And now it's raining..... thanks cutting the water bill for me :D

LOVE YA MAMI!

New do!

This is my newest hair do. Think the last time I had bangs like this it was in Elementary. After this, it's time to let it grow again. My hair takes FOREVER to grow though! So my beauty consultant recommended I trim it every 6 weeks. We'll see how long it takes to grow if I trim as told.

P.S. Take II at twitterfeed, hehe...

"Forgetful Adri"

I am so forgetful! Although my husband says that I am only forgetful when it's convenient for me, and I think not! I will admit, I do not Forget GREAT memories ;)

Being forgetful comes in handy when I'm watching good movies. The other day I was watching 13 going on 30 and I could NOT remember the end!!! So there I was guessing as to what was going to happen. That was great :) It was like seeing the movie for the 1st time!!

P.S. This is a short blog just to test my Twitterfeed :D Crossing my fingers it works. Hope it does because it makes me feel smarter when I can figure out things like this without my friends technical support. Although he's always willing to work/help for food :P

Beat IT!!

Here is just a little clip of how he likes to dance his favorite Michael Jackson song. He was not happy i was taking a video of him.....so he stopped dancing. I love the way he taps his left foot! Our bebito :)

He made up his own moves. This clip was video taped the day of his 3rd birthday party.

Tonight I left him watching MJ videos on the computer in his room. Then he was yelling for me...LONG story short. He was hiding under the desk. He had clicked play on "Thriller." He was scared! Poor baby told me "I ton't like it mommy." And he was pointing up at the monitor, lol!

I Want SuperMan "Pa-ta-ta" aka "Pinata"

He knew exactly what he wanted for his 3rd little birthday! Superman!!!!! Our little man is such a character. He can't help but make us laugh.

One of his little phrases right now is "You better not get in my face.." Abel & I are grateful he doesn't know the second part of that phrase. We got it from the movie Step Brothers with Will Farell.

Some of his other favorite phrases:
But why??? I tole you! I'm gonna beat you! (While eating)

He learns fast! Abel knows exactly how to scare me...and guess who does just as well as him? ADRIAN!! They can do this scary noise that freaks me out!

Adrian enjoys listening to Michael Jackson, Elivs and Rockish stuff.

He loves to spend time out side with daddy.....all while they mess with daddy's new project mustang.

Sound adjustment. Possible for me?

I started a new job approximately over 2 weeks ago. Everyone keeps asking me how's it going? So far so good. I like it. I am the Scheduling Coordinator for a Dental Office in Port Isabel. Everyone is nice. There is so much to learn!!!! But I am having one BIG problem :(
I AM TOO LOUD! My boss told me the other day that when I call her over the intercom via the phone.... I make her heart skip a beat. That the next thing she thinks I'm going to tell her is that the building is on fire. I think it's funny, but I guess I really have to work at it. Maybe they'll just all join me and be LOUD? Anyways, it's no biggie. I'd much rather have that problem/issue versus something really serious :)

I bet they'll be happy when I have a sore throat, ha ha!

Before I started working here at Port Isabel Dental Associates, I had no desire to fix the gaps in my teeth. If celebrities were comfortable with them, so was I!! BUT now, I do want to have pretty pretty teeth! I'm learning that regular dental visits are a MUST!!!! I've always been under the impression that going to the dentist was a luxury.......BOY was I wrong!!!!!

What's on your pig?

How the tables have turned. About 4 months ago my friend Sal had blogged about some of us not working at Valley Diagnostic Clinic, Pat & I. Turns out I went back, and guess who's gone now? SAL! Of course, we are all happy he found a job that he will be happy at. Not that VDC isn't a happy place, but ............long story! Anyways, we went out to lunch at one of our favoritest place in Harlingen, BOOMERANG BABBA'S during his last week!

OF course, we called in advance to reserve some tables. Since the manager and waitor know us all so well...guess what they did for Sal? Just for him, the manager, Chris?Daniel? (inside joke) automatically said they'd put the "chicken tacos" as the special of the day. He'd always be bugging them for the tacos everytime we went. Although everything we eat there is delish! mmm! We have pictures to prove it! Pictures are in our phones or twitpic :)

For dessert we took him some sweet bread PIGS. We know he likes those, so Christi individually wrapped them in plastic bags. Each piggie was tagged with digiSal's famous phrases. It was fun brainstorming the phrases. Christi and I would text each other everytime we'd think of one. The phrases got better and better each time! Emily and I also had fun thinking of them.

Here are some of the ones we came up with:

  • Maybe next year....
  • Stomach hurts
  • "Hey, I resemble that remark"
  • It's "text," NOT texted
  • Non-Texterbacker
  • Put it on twitter!
  • Just GOOGLE it
  • Don't use a calculator, just call Christi
  • I knoooooow!
  • What did you doooo?
  • That dirty rat!
  • Did somebody say Wallbangers?

I know there are some I'm leaving out right now. He kept my little notes we had taken! We should have also put "Do you know how long it took me to get my hair to look like this?" or something like that........

ANY PHRASE YOU WOULD ADD?

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Our little Allyson Skyla is growing. This year she turned 7. Since now we have our comfy home, we did her a birthday party here. She went with the Spongebob theme. Since Spongebob lives under the sea, we went with a pool/slide/wet party.

Ally had a great turn out and she had a blast. I love parties but I hate the way I stress out. After all those "What if's" it was ALL worth it. Thank God my sister & mother in law helped the way they did. Of course, my baby did all the cooking of the Krabby Patties.

Whether you were planning to get wet or not that afternoon, YOU did get at least a little wet. We had water guns, water balloons, etc. Not to mention, after I would get off the water slide, I would go hug someone who was dry.

Sky received many wonderful gifts and she's very grateful. Thank you everyone :)

NOTE TO SELF: DO NOT buy Allyson a pinata next year. She did not even want to take ONE swing @ SpongeBob.

March '09 Live Stock Show Carnival Nite

We laughed so much when the girls, Allyson & Hailey tried crossing the end of this ride. She's gonna kill me for putting this vid, but I had to.

Skyla did a lot better the 2nd time around :)

H1N1 (Swine)

By far, this darn Swine Flu thing has been one of the most freakiest things I'm having to live through. Most of these things I've heard only through movies, TV shows, or in other countries! I'm chosing not to be scared of it, but I am still taking any precautions I can take, like washing my hands every 30 seconds. (Kidding) I feel like Jack Nickolson in "As Good As It Gets." He was always washing his hands and would try to be extra sanitary.
I work at a health clinic and some of our staff are wearing the masks. When I walk through those areas, I feel I have to hold my breath!
SBCISD and several surrounding school districts have cancelled classes for this week. Mexico on the other had has closed down restaurants, stores, etc. Anyways, just had to blog so I wouldn't forget....
Hand sanitizers rule!

Miss Blogging

Lately my time has been spent with our children, hubby, work, house stuff, and of course NEW MOON. I have several ways of accessing the book. Anyways, tonight Ally asked me when I was going to finish reading the book. (I promise, I don't read it as much as I could. I have been reading it for about 1 month or so.) She asked me because she wants me to spend more time with her. I told her I would always stop reading for her.

The funny part was when I asked her "Mama, what if when I finish the book, I turn into a vampire?" Oh, she gave me this funny scary look. I pretended to go for her neck, as to bite her. She pulled away and seriously got creeped out.

Afterwards, I laid down to watch the Parent Trap with her. When daddy attempted to turn off the light in her room a little later, she begged him not to. I had to explain to him why. Now she doesn't want me to kiss her. I think it's funny. But maybe I shouldn't scare her that way.

I hope to be blogging more often. I have things to BLOG about!

P.S. I really have to send a shout out to all my Twilight friends, LOL.  BTW, thanks so much @digiSal for the hook ups :)

Shake it, Shake it....

I've been staying behind with blogging!!! So here's a quick one.

My little prince is now 2 years, 6 months, and 7 days. I think he was getting a little to old to wear pampers. This past Monday we began potty training him. With the help of his babysitter. He has been doing great. He only had big accidents the first day. His second day was better and by now, he's doing great!

The only little flaw is that he prefers to poop in his chonies :-/

Oh, and I'm getting ready to invent something for the little water fountain. His little thing goes up and the "chorito" goes out of the toilet!! He's being taught sitting down for right now, later he can do the shake shake thing. I welcome any potty training tips :)

Will post pics when I have more time.

Walking Miss Daisy

Daisy is our little pup Ally got from my mom for Christmas. Although she is not full bred, we love her and have accepted her as part of our family :) Abel is the one who usually walks her. But today he saw me full of energy and asked me to do it. I had never walked her by myself.

First things first, I darn stepped on her little kinda injured paw :( (Ally got in my way!!!) Of course, I got in trouble with daddy. Then we are walking, and she starts eating poop!! chiwawa!! Finally got her to drop it!!! ewe!

Abel usually takes her one way, and me being the odd ball, took her the opposite way. All was fine till we came upon a house with several dogs. Daisy and Ally got scared at all the barking, I made an immediate turn.

On the way back, Daisy throws up!! Maybe it was all the pulling of her leash or maybe it was the poop she ate? She seemed fine after "tiro migas." She better not be bulimic!!!

I had to yell at Ally "Cuidado con la caca!" She almost stepped on the same poop Daisy was munching on! Hope I'm not being too gross, my apologies if I am.

Overall, it was an interesting walk. Good way to get to know the neighbors. I guess?

3 Teeth In 3 weeks

On February 3rd Ally lost her 3rd tooth in a 3 weeks span! I hope that's normal! Here's a story of how she has lost all her 5 teeth.
  1. She lost it at school, literally, LOST it. She was sad because she thought the tooth fairy was not coming. She did come though. (Kinder)

  2. Adrian knocked out her 2nd tooth. They were playing around and he accidentally did it. Was so funny! (Kinder)

  3. Her 3rd one she woke up without it. She found it by her pillow. She ran to show it to me! (1st grade)

  4. The 4th tooth she recently lost was not even loose!!! But she bit and apple and Baaaa! (1st grade)
  5. The 5th one she Lost while biting an orange. (1st grade)
I feel bad for my baby. No front teeth :( But I love to see her smile, I guess she forgets she's missing teeth and smiles like she's got ALL her teeth. Que chula :)

I'm not in control, HE is

Yesterday was a day of happiness with a mixture of sadness. I've been employed at Valley Diagnostic Clinic for the past 4 years. I guess things are getting bad there, just as the rest of the world. "The Economy" blah, blah, blah...

A fellow manger and I got the call into Human Resources yesterday. The unexpected, yet expected? We got laid off! I can not say it was a relief, a shocker, nor was I mad, sad, or happy. Just weird. On Monday we got heads up, so we were prepared.

I have no choice but to accept what is happening. The Lord decided I did not need to stick around there any longer. He is in control, and I give him all the glory. The one thing I am so happy about is that I am surrounded by caring & loving Family and Friends.

I made so many neat friends there at VDC. I've learned different things from each one. When I didn't have faith in myself, they would jump in and remind me of the things I had accomplished. I LOVE each and every one of them.

My church friends have also been a tremendous blessing! I have been blessed all this day :) Imagine how the rest of my days will be :D

Meanwhile, I will enjoy and take advantage of this time and enjoy our children. I will be working on figuring out my stay-at-home-mom routine.

Genesis 1-4

At church they provided us with a guide on how to read the bible in one year. I got the guide last Wednesday, the 7th. That meant I was already a little behind. I should have been on Genesis 23-26. In my head I was like, piece of cake. I can probably catch up right away! Not proud to say that I finally got started 4 days later.

So, Sunday night, I grabbed the bible and the guide. I needed to read Genesis 1-42 to catch up. I wanted to see how much that was. I went to Genesis 1 and was looking for verse 42. (I was figuring I could do it all that night.) To my surprise, there was no verse 42! I had totally misunderstood the guide. We are supposed to be reading chapters, not verses!! It was then I realized how far behind I was or am! BOY, did I have it all wrong :(

Ally and I read Genesis 1-4. She was interested. Especially because her daddy's name is in the bible. ABEL. She learned how God took a rib from Adam to make Eve.

I might be behind, but I intend to do my best. We are blessed in sooooo many ways. And what better way to receive more blessings, be able to help others, AND to please the LORD, than to read the bible?

Resolutions, Resolutions, Resolutions

Instead, I will say DETERMINED. I have one resolution for this year. I'm not sure, but I think I have mentioned it before, AVOID BEING A PROCRASTINATOR. I feel if I can accomplish that, mostly everything shall fall into place.

I would also like to say "I accomplished ____ this year." We live our normal lives from day to day. Compared to others, I know I am blessed and I do not use all that I have to be more successful. I don't only mean career wise, it has to do with everything. There are so many people that are less fortunate than us, yet they accomplish more than us? I am not in competition, jealous, or envious. The way I am proud of anyone that accomplishes something they thought they couldn't do, I want to feel proud of myself.

Too many "We should haves!" I think that's what keeps us from moving forward. At least me it does. So here's to a new year! A year of success and accomplishments.

To end this on a happy note. I am a very PROUD mommy and wife!! Love you guys!! MUAH!!! Happy endings do exist. (We just saw BEDTIME STORIES today, it is good :)

Yeee-Haaa!!!

Some wore cowboy hats, some borrowed. I for sure borrowed.

We celebrated with family and friends at WINKS this past Saturday the birthday of Belia and Nela. We had a great time. At midnight you are able to ride a mechanical bull!! Some last a while and some fall off right away. That was fun to watch.
