A Mother's Love

MOMMY & ADRIAN 2 months then, now going on 2 years old :)

A mother's LOVE was in total control today. Our little boy Adrian is in daycare. As I was having lunch with my friend Jennifer at the mall's food court, I happened to see Adrian's babysitter! I looked down beside her, and she was holding my baby's hand as they made their way into the food court. Then she saw me, I immediately signaled her to NOT let Adrian see me. I knew that if he saw me, he would give her a hard time after I had to leave. But my heart was so so melting at this point.

To not make this drag.... I will tell you that my heart was being tugged and tugged. I could not take it that my baby and I were in the same place, and I was not holding his little body and kissing him! My eyes began to get teary, even though Jen would tell me to stop, because her eyes were also getting teary :(

I would turn around and look towards where he was sitting. He was sitting there being a big boy. The one that was behaving like a little girl was me.... By this point I began to literally cry. I can't describe the emotions going through my mind, body, and soul. I had to call Abel and tell him what was going on. He could barely understand what I was attempting to tell him. I explained to him that if I went to hold Adrian, I was not going to let him go anymore! Now I had the two of us feeling the same :)

With a knot in his throat, he told me to go get him. I hung up with him, called my supervisor and told her I could not return to work, that an emergency had come up (which is true!!!) Jen told me she would have done the same. Anyways, I almost forgot all about having to take Jen back to work, I was planning to hang out with the rest of the kids while they ate. Then she brought me back to reality, I went to get my chiquito, with my eyes full of tears, and we came home after dropping her off at work :D

I hope one day Allyson and Adrian will feel and understand how much we absolutely love them and that there are no limits for this love.........

BTW: This is not meant for my supervisors eyes and ears ;)

BIG SPENDER

DO YOU ACTUALLY THINK THAT THEY GIVE THESE BAGS TO JUST ANYONE? Of course not! I went on Saturday and ordered the following: A 4-pack kids meal and a 6-pack kids meal. "Big Spender!"
Again, as I stood there I got a wiff of the peanut oil burning. I got flash backs of my days at Chick-Fil-A. Although that crew did not look nearly as cool as when we were there.... J/K! New generation I guess? There's also a new owner, my old boss, Santos was strict but pretty cool.
My favorite sandwich was the Chick-Fil-A Club . The fried chicken with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and side order of jalapeno! Mmmm!

Sweet Dreams.......zzzzzz....zzz

These were my kiddos last night. I put Adrian to sleep on our bed, which is right next to Ally's bed. Ally of course was in her bed. After an hour or so, I went to check on them. And this is what I found. Adrian had fallen into her bed, I guess? I thought they looked adorable. And if you look closely, he still likes to play with Mr. Socko. Check out his right hand...... If you click here, you will see his little story of Mr. Socko. I love you babies! Ally will be turning 6 years old on May 9th. And Adrian will be turning 2 on August 7th.

When you're young....

I'm not saying that I am old, but when your in your teens things are so different. The other day I was waiting for an order at Whataburger. Which took for-e-ver!! It took at least 30 minutes!!!Since I had gone inside, I was able to observe the young employees. It reminded me of when I used to work at Rally's and Chic-Fil-A. You're so young that you that you really live day to day. No worries. (Well, that's if you don't have children already.) Seeing them took me back a few years. When I used to work at Rally's, I worked with a bunch of buddies. For some reason, everyone becomes close. Abel and I even became so close that we got married :D (LOVE YA HUN!)

As I was observing those young employees, I could tell who had the hots for who. It was funny, but I could tell. Maybe because I've been there before. When you're that young, you really don't have bills, problems, etc... I wouldn't go back and change anything. Well, only take care of my credit. Anyways, we don't realize how easy we have it. We might even be having easy right now, but we won't realize it until years later. So, that's why I try to be happy everyday!

Christmas in April

2005
2006

2007

Nah, it's just that we just got our VDC Christmas group picture. It has been 3 years that I have been able to attend the company Christmas party. I compared pictures and boy do I look different! Well, I think we all do. It just part of life I guess, we can't expect to look the same year after year.
I couldn't find one of the pictures so I borrowed one from Jennifer. In the pictures you will see Teri, Emily, Jennifer, and me :)
Do you know that Abel asked me if I had been stung by bees in the 1st picture? Que malo!

Notice anything awkward?

What is wrong with the stroller? That is what Abel asked me on Saturday at the mall food court. I looked..... Adrian's backpack...check. My purse...check. Adrian...check. I had no clue as to what was wrong? Then he said "The shirt!" We steal with class..... LOL! We walked out of Dillard's without paying for the white shirt on the hanger you see resting on the stroller. Que Awite! So what did we do? Obviously, we walked back into Dillard's and returned it. I would pick up the shirt so the cameras could see that we were returning it. Can you imagine if we would have gotten stopped by security?

Our internet has been down all week long at home. Therefore, I haven't been able to blog. Right now I'm at work and I have like 5 minutes before I have to leave. I just wanted to put a little something in. I can't wait till it gets fixed!

The Children's Museum

Today we went to The Children's Museum in Brownsville for the first time. What a neat place for the family. Allyson & Adrian had a great time. Abel and I had a great time watching our children have fun. The museum has several themes.... doctors, kitchens, boat, ranch, construction, news, etc..It is such a neat place. Ally's favorite section was the kitchen. She didn't want to move on! Adrian's favorite was just running around everywhere. Afterwards we took them to Dean Porter Park, the one by the zoo. The weather was perfect! I do see us going back.

Relay for Life

Yesterday and today I participated in the Relay for Life here in San Benito. This is the first time I ever participate in anything like this. I was a part of Ally's school team. Every team had their own shirts and theme. Some teams went all out!! Friday night I helped at the concession stand. I sold fajita tacos, sausage wraps, nachos, pickles, cokes and frito pies! That was a lot of fun.

On Saturday at 5:00 a.m., I did the actual walking. My friend Jennifer also joined me. I did a total of 6 1/2 miles! I am so proud because I was able to jog 4 miles. I had never attempted that, and I was able to accomplish it.

I guess I had never participated because cancer had not hit so close to home as it did last year. My little sister was diagnosed & treated last year. She has been extremely blessed!! She is a great SURVIVOR!! I love her so much. I was never scared for her and neither was she nor all the loved ones that surrounded her through all of this. She had so much support, especially from the person she dearly and truly loves, her hubby! My brother-in-law Carlos was and is the best. I love you both! I shall continue to participate....

My sister & Me :D

Mira, how cute! I bumped into a little photo album and this picture was in it. I just think my little sister looks so adorable! Look at her curlies! I know she won't mind that I posted this picture. Because I love her and she loves me! It looks like I might have been 4 yrs old and Esmi 2 yrs old? I had already been wanting to post pictures of when we were younger. I have one of Abel that is coming up....Ha Ha. I know he's going to want to make me remove it, BUT I will stand my ground! :P This is MY BLOG!!

El Primo and BORSTAR

"Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) Teams are highly specialized units capable of responding to emergency search and rescue situations anywhere in the United States. These teams are made up of Border Patrol Agents who volunteer to go beyond their regular duties and undergo a highly specialized regimen consisting of training in physical fitness and training in various other disciplines, including medical skills, technical rescue, navigation, communication, swiftwater rescue, and air operations.
BORSTAR's primary mission is to respond to incidents involving distressed agents and migrants along the border."

My cousin Jorge just graduated from this special strict training. On Saturday night my aunt made a party in his honor. After eveyone ate, he showed us a video of his actual training, with him in it! Geez Louis! It looked hard! I am so, so PROUD of "El Primo." Of course, being that I am not loud..........WHATEVER....... anyways, during the video, I couldn't help but cheer him on when I would see him. All of us there were clapping, yelling, and high fiving him. His wife Tracy is also very proud of him. He is 1 out of 10! He will now also be training to be a paramedic. Which is all part of it. GO JORGE!! LOVE YA!

On another note, I am also very proud of his brother, my other cousin, Daniel. He will be graduating from UTPA next month. He now has an interview for the PA program, we will all be praying that he gets accepted. Go Danny!

More words...

I have to update on the new words mijo is saying....

I don't know?,it's hot, is that?, door, toy, teeth, bike, Spongebob, babe, and football!. I'm sure there's others I can't remember right now. Of course, he says them like how a one and 1/2 year old would say them. We absolutely love the way he says "toy." He puckers his lips for the "t." He looks so cute. My chiquinino!

OMG though, he has been getting into these crying spells!! Only at home! He does fine at Teacher Estela's! Nothing seems to please him! I carry him, and he wants to get down. I offer juice, milk, pan, and as last resort sometimes candy, and STILL, he'd rather be throwing his tantrum. I keep my patience for a very long time, even if it is 2 in the morning. One night Abel and poor mijita abandoned me in the room with crying screaming Adrian. Ally, half asleep told me "Adrian is too loud!" She grabbed her blanket and joined Daddy in the living room. The next night, she wanted to sleep in the "sala" again....

Nail Salon

Sunday I made a quick escape to get my acrylic nails removed and get a new set done. I didn't even have to wait, I walked in and there was a guy available. That was good news to me because my hunny didn't even know I was there....

To make a long story short, this guy that was doing my nails was a rude, strict, non-challant, punk rock kinda guy! I was going to take my phone out of my pocket and he didn't let me! I wanted my nails shorter, and he said no, that if they're longer they make your fingers look skinner. (I guess anything to look skinner?) I chose one color for my nails, and he chose another, because he was having a hard time finding the one I chose. This dude! I saw a nail that was not straight, and he got bothered because I wanted him to fix it!

So today, Adriana G. (co-worker) shows me a video of a comedian. I don't even know how the subject came up. But as I was watching the video, I had to pause it to tell the girls...."That happened to me on Sunday!" We were all laughing because this video is true!!!

Abel's Mini-Wallbangers

Babel made a yummy yummy burger last night! It was made out of fresh ground beef. He added his own special combination of seasonings. So, when he had his first bite, he said "Que Wallbanger's?" I only tasted it, and boy, it was good! I had fish for dinner last night. BUT tonight..........mmmm I had something else. I can't say what because then I will be busted with the in-laws...Belia reads my blog. Then the Y-Barras will ask why we didn't invite them over. Ooops, did I just bust myself? Nah, they know we love'em!

So, tonight we watched the Ultimate Fighting Championship. I only saw a few fights, but I got to see Matt Hamil fight. My mom was at my house and she was getting all into it also! She was making me laugh! I was rooting for Matt and he kicked boote'. Abel could hear me yelling all the way outside. Matt Hamil is a deaf mute fighter but he can fight! Well, he speaks a little, but it's hard to understand him. Go Matty!

SPRING BREAK '08

We had to go to the beach! It was Spring Break! The weather was beautiful and we decided to head out to South Padre Island and catch some rays. (Eventhough the sun doesn't like me!) Adrian did not like it at all, but Ally wanted to jump in the water.

We were freaking out because the water is now so so close to the dunes. We remember when the water was far from the dunes. I'm talking about one of the beach access. I would get scared that the waves would get us, but luckily they didn't reach us.

*Our trip to the Dentist*

Ally and Adrian visited the dentist last week. Ally had previously been there, but this was Adrian's 1st visit. Even at 5 years old, Ally is still scared! She preferred that poor wittle brother go 1st! One of the pictures shows how she was just watching... So I figured that when it would be her turn, she'd be fine....NOT! I think she gave them a harder time than Adrian. Afterwards she realized that it wasn't that bad. Can you believe I took the pictures with my phone? Pretty good if you ask me...
