I'm not cold hearted!

Abel has been telling my that I'm cold hearted. All because of Adrian. Last week and the week before, Adrian has had the strangest behavior when we drop him off at daycare in the mornings. Literally kicking, screaming, crying, and holding on to us! It first happened with daddy, and he couldn't take it, so he dropped Adrian off at his mom's instead. The second day, it happened again! We kept asking ourselves and the babysitter "What happened?" "Nothing happened" was the response all around.

We had to give Adrian the benefit of the doubt. We were not going to force him to stay somewhere he was unhappy. Needless to say, he stayed at grandma's several days. I then decided I would drop him off one day, just to test his reaction. He did the same, but I had to see how he would act the rest of the day. With a broken heart (or cold hearted, according to Abel), I left him there. I called the babysitter not even 5 minutes later, and he was over it!! He was a happy and playful little boy the rest of the day!!

Daddy attempted it again, same reaction, back to grandma's he went. When he dropped him off at his mom's..... he reacted the same!! That was proof to Abel that Adrian was just having a hard time detaching from us. No matter who he was staying with. Finally this week, I have been the one taking him. To our surprise, he is now doing a lot better. Daddy was a brave one today, and took him. Adrian is back to himself, calm, yet a little sad.

The babysitter and her family love Adrian. She tried helping us. I had to convince my mother in law that she would be telling us the truth. This is a lady that has people on a waiting list to come in to her daycare. Why would she keep a child that would give her trouble through out the day? I would tell Abel, "I bet your mom hates me!" lol

What would you have done?

The scenario is: I went to an informative meeting about cancer at a hospital . Speaker: A doctor and a professor in Fort Worth. Through out the meeting, he uses these HUMONGOUS medical terms. They went right over my head! After a while, I totally just tuned out and began to make some notes for work. An hour later, meeting is over, and now time for the evaluation. Usual evaluations for these meetings ask if the speaker knew what he/she was talking about, did you learn, etc... WELL, this evaluation began by giving me a scenario of a sick patient and the treatment plan. It then asked if I agreed with the scenario. I was like"OMG!" "How am I supposed to know?" I said to myself, "Big Deal, I will ini-mini-myni-mo." "This is not asking me for my name or anything." I flipped the page, and tan tannn tannnn.... It's asking for ALL my info!! I kinda went into panic mode. Simple, I figured, I just wont turn it in and pass up on the credit I could have claimed.

I put my stuff away and begin to walk out. Low and behold, the ladies are at the exit picking up the evaluations!! I couldn't lie to them... so I immediately looked around for an alternative exit. I found one, so I took it, and found myself trapped in a construction zone! Three doors in that area, door #1 closed, door #2 covered with the plastic and warning signs, door #3.....I thought to myself, "please be safe!" I took a peak, and it looked like the lobby of the hospital... YESSSS, it was! Boy was I proud of myself and happy because I was able to escape! The mini-ordeal was over.

I bumped into some friends, and even they were wondering what was up with the huge smile on my face. So I told them, and they told me what they would have done. They said they would have put Jane Doe as their name. Duh! Why didn't I think of that? What would you have done?

Classmates

Ever see classmates at the store that you never really talked to in school? I was not the most popular gal in school, but I did try to be friendly to everyone. I guess it's kinda hard to have a friendship with everyone when the graduating class was over 600 students.

Earlier I saw a guy I never spoke to. He gave me the look like he recognized me. I wanted to say hi, but he looked down right away. It looked like he was with his wife. You know that there is someone for everyone out there right? Let's just say I'm glad he found someone. I quickly prayed that he was happy with his family.

Now that I'm older and wiser. I wish I would have made a bigger attempt to speak to the shy and quiet people. Sometimes these people stay behind and feel they can't do much. There are times when certain words of encouragement may make a difference in a person's life. I don't know what I could have told them then, but I do now. Anyways, I always say little prayers for when I see someone that I never spoke to and still don't. I wish happiness upon everyone and that the Lord may bless them. Just as the Lord has and is blessing me.

Enrique Iglesias

Plain and simple, I had the greatest time at his concert on Friday night. Rosa from work, her friend and I went to the concert on 9/5/08 at the Dodge Arena. (This was part of my birthday gift) Since cameras were not allowed, I didn't think I would be able to take pics. But I still snuck it in like many others. I had not charged my camera, so I only had a little juice left in the battery :( It would happen to me!! Everyone was taking pics!!! Even Enrique would grab the cameras and take pictures of himself and return them to the owner!

Anyways, long story short...Abel did not want to go for the 3rd time to see him, I went with the girls, but sat on my own. Once he hit or came out from the bottom of the stage, it didn't matter who I was next to :)

A group named Aventura also played that night. I was so surprised that Enrique started the show and Aventura wrapped up the night. They both put on a great show!! I already told Abel that if he comes again, I want to go again.

Adriansito turned TWO

Our dear little Adrian turned two last month. I know I'm a little late in posting it, but, but, but...... no excuses :(

We got together at Gwamma's and Pappas house. His birthday party is still pending. We love you so much baby!! He's turning into a little parrot already. He sleeps in his room like 40% of the time. I'd say that's pretty good for being TWO. When he wakes up in the middle of the night, I put him back to sleep in his bed. Daddy on the other hand, takes the easy route.... he brings him back to our bed. ONE night Adrian actually walked himself back to our room! He still sleeps with his booty up in the air. He doesn't like to be covered either.

He loves to fight with his grandpa if he touches his gwamma. He loves to eat ketchup. I think he also speaks pig latin.... he calls pizza, PIZA-NAY. He loves to follow Daddy around. And thanks to Ally, he hates bugs! BUT, he gets a kick out of FROGS! Yuck!! He also seems to enjoy music. He plays air guitar.

THE MAILBOX

I had just been admiring our little mail box. I’ve always liked the mailboxes that are like little houses. Well, my mom in law “se echo el villete” I don’t know how to say this in English?

As we were all taking a break at our new dining set the day of the big move, my little brother was looking out through the front door. He calmly says “Abel’s mom knocked down the mail box.” I went along with it because I thought he was joking. Then he says “For real, your mail box is knocked down, it’s on the street.” I automatically handed him the camera so he could go take pictures. He walked out saying “For the court” Then………….. I hear my mother in law walking in calling my name. Of course we all got up and went outside. My poor mother in law, she was blaming my sister in law, because she didn’t get up to leave with her. OMG, I started cracking up!! I did not even get mad or bothered. This was too too funny!!

She felt so bad. She kept telling me not to laugh. I had to!!! The faces she was making! And just imaging the look on her face and imaging what went through her head when she saw the mail box on the street. It was so hilarious!!! She told us she thought she had gone over the curb. Even as I type this, I’m laughing.

My little brother and Nacho tried to lift it, and even though it was heavy, they managed to lift it. Oh no, my mother in law was so scared!! Abel was not home, so I called him to give him heads up. He did not even get mad; he was concerned about his mom’s car.

So far, we are getting mail. She already bought us a new mailbox. We told her she didn't have to, but she is stubborn! Anybody know how to rebuild a mailbox? :)

AS ONE DOOR CLOSES, ONE DOOR OPENS

We have now been here at our new home for 2 weeks and 4 days! I still remember how I felt as I walked out of the mobile home for the last time. I stood there, looked around, and as that chapter of our lives was over, I felt it in my heart. I cried. It just hurt. What hurt? I don’t know. I guess it’s like when your puppy dies. The detachment.

All I can say now is that we are very happy at our new home. It's roomy!! Then again, compared to the mobile home, we are in a palace :D

Saturday, August 16, 2008 was the first night we spent at our new house. This day they delivered our dining set and our new KING size bed!! We were just waiting for the bed to sleep over.

The kids were running around and screaming. I think Abel got a headache with the echoes of the screaming.

EL VASITO BLUE

My little brother helped us move. My mother in law, nephew, and sister in law also helped. Well, my little brother and sister in law were freaked out at how much loose change there was thrown all over the place at the mobile home. They would both make their own little stash. At the end, they were both fighting for the “Vasito Blue.” I use this cup to put loose change. When were done packing, this little cup was heavier. They both offered to help, by keeping it for themselves. I wonder how much money it holds?

Anyways, I am so grateful at all the help we got. And I thank the Lord for all our blessings.

HERE'S "EL VASITO" WITH ITS GUTS SPILLED.

THE KEYS

I'm so behind with my blogs!! Nevertheless, I have to catch up.

You know I had to take a picture as the keys were being handed over on August 12th!! The keys got delivered to me at work by Magdalena. It felt a little weird. I can say I was happy, but not excited :( I later realized I did not feel comfortable because I had not decided on an electric company. The day I finally chose one, I felt so, so relieved!! That is the day I felt excited to be a homeowner :D Thanks for taking the picture Becky (my co-worker).
